Jessica Chambliss, DVM

Dr. Jessica Chambliss joined Fredericktown Animal Hospital in June 2022. Growing up in St. Louis, she grew up around cats, most notably helping her aunt take care of her family cats at home. But when the time came to shadow veterinarians in high school, she knew that becoming a veterinarian herself is what she wanted. She even got to reach into the abdomen of a cow during a displaced abomasum surgery, which she says was "the coolest."

 

She attended University of Missouri-St. Louis for her Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating in 2017 before going to Iowa State University and graduating in 2022 for her veterinarian degree. While she was working on her degree, she was working as an outpatient technician for a few years.

 

Dr. Chambliss is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association. She finds solving complex cases satisfying, enjoying the "puzzles" behind them and feeling wonderful when she can help both the pet and the owner.

 

In her free time, Dr. Chambliss enjoys baking sourdough, crocheting, reading books, and spending time with her dog, Lizzie, and her husband, Connor.
