Hannah R. Lewis, DVM

Dr. Hannah Lewis is our Associate Veterinarian with a unique story; she's been working with our team since June 2014 as a Kennel Technician, but in July 2024 she became an associate veterinarian. She received her undergraduate degree in Agribusiness and Animal Science from Southeast Missouri State University in 2020 before attending the University of Missouri-Colombia College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2024. During this time, she was nominated to the Veterinary honor Society of Phi Zeta. Dr. Lewis is a member of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Lewis grew up in Fredericktown and has always wanted to work with animals. That's why she joined Fredericktown Animal Hospital in 2014, working as a Kennel Technician and a Veterinary Assistant for six years before she went to veterinary school.

"Once I started at the Fredericktown Animal Hospital, Dr. Falch continued to feed and grow my interest in veterinary medicine by allowing me to shadow him," she shares.

Some of her professional interests include herd health, surgery, and preventative healthcare. When asked about the most satisfying part of being a veterinarian, Dr. Lewis says it's "being able to come back to my rural hometown and working to be a part of the solution to the shortage of veterinarians. I enjoy getting to go home each day, knowing I made a difference in a pet's life and for their owner."

At home, Dr. Lewis has four cats: Opal, a domestic longhair dilute tortie; Toothless, a black domestic longhair; Cleopatra, a domestic shorthair tortie; and Quigley, an orange domestic longhair. In her free time, she enjoys assisting with leading worship service at her church.
